A journal is. . . 

  • A source of scholarly or academic articles, including original research, written by researchers and other experts
  • Usually peer-reviewed
  • Focused on one specific discipline or field of study
  • Intended for an academic or technical audience, instead of general readers
  • Published in print or online on a regular basis, i.e.: monthly or quarterly, with volume and issue numbers.

What's a Database?

A database is . . . 

  • An organized collection of information that can be searched. A database can have articles from many different journals. Databases can also contain other kinds of resources, like eBooks, videos, and more.
