Welcome! Student Success

Welcome to the Student Success Guide!

Most of us think of the library as a place for research and studying, but we're about a lot more than academics. The transition to college is a big adjustment, and it's normal for students to find themselves facing a number of challenges, both academic and personal. The library can provide you with resources and information to help you to do - and be - your very best. In this guide, you'll find resources on both academic and personal topics:

  • Learning study skills
  • Managing stress and text anxiety
  • Developing critical thinking skills
  • Creating great presentations
  • Building financial literacy skills
  • Writing and citing skills
  • Building your résumé and cover letter
  • Dealing with challenging topics, including self-esteem, mental and emotional well-being, and stress

Loyalist College provides a range of excellent services for students in a variety of different areas. You'll find links to those services throughout this guide; just look for Services @ Loyalist.

Not sure how to get started? Take some time to explore the guide, or contact the Library. We can be reached by email or by calling (613) 969-1913, Ext. 2249.
